Cathedral Peak Masterclass - 8th May 2014

Join me for a three night landscape masterclass in the stunning setting of the Cathedral Peak section of the Drakensberg this May.

This landscape oriented photography workshop takes place between the 8th and 11th May at Didima Camp - one of Ezemvelo Wildlife’s premier camps. The workshop caters to photographers who have a little more than basic photography skills and are wanting to hone their landscape abilities. In particular the workshop concentrates on landscape composition, use of filters, HDR blending and star trails (if weather permits).

A strong focus of the workshop is in leader - photographer feedback, and various critique sessions are built into the workshop where participants are able to discuss images that are shot during the course of each day.

Itinerary (subject to change based on weather).

Thursday 8th May: Arrive midday. Short sit-down lunch and meet with the other participants. After lunch a short seminar then afternoon shoot above Didima Camp. Evening shoot (if weather permits after dinner).

Friday 9th: Early morning rise to reach river for sunrise shots. Return for breakfast and seminar session along with processing and critique. After lunch travel to the top of Mike’s Pass for afternoon shoot high on the Lower Berg (driven by parks board). Return for dinner at Didima.

Saturday 10th: Optional early morning sunrise shoot followed by breakfast. We then head out to the Rainbow gorge to photograph waterfalls and forests. We take a packed lunch so as to maximise the shooting time. Returns after lunch to a processing session, dinner and a critique session.

Sunday 11th: Early morning sunrise shoot. Return for breakfast and to print out participants best image. Leave Cathedral Peak after 10am checkout.

Accommodation and dining is at the stunning Ezemvelo show-piece, Didima Camp, which overlooks the Cathedral Range. Locations have been chosen for their imaging potential and relative ease of access. As a highlight, we will be organising a sunset shoot on the top of the ‘Little Berg’

Cost: R4300 per person sharing. Includes all park fees, accommodation, meals, tuition and one A3 Fine Art Print. Does not include beverages in the restaurant.
